Ten Incredible Female Musicians from the Coachella 2025 Lineup

Like many industries, the music industry is one that is heavily male dominated. Despite there being an overabundance of talented female artists, the reality is they just aren’t getting booked on shows as much as their male counterparts. According to a study done by Book More Women, less than 25% of performers across a number of major U.S. music festivals are women.

Now that April is in full swing, social media is buzzing about the biggest music festival of the year, Coachella. The 2025 lineup is roughly 35% women, but there is still a long way to go to bridge the gender gap across the music industry. Therefore, here are ten incredible female artists that deserve recognition for their music that appear on the 2025 Coachella lineup.

Lady Gaga

Gaga took to the Coachella stage this year to perform music off her recently released album, Mayhem, as well as hits off her previous albums such as “Poker Face”, “Paparazzi” and “Born This Way”. She stunned in true Gaga fashion with extravagant looks ranging from a big, bright red, Baroque era style dress to a fully feathered white number amongst many others. Even over a decade after she’s had her big break, Lady Gaga is still a pop icon!

MARINA

Much like Gaga, MARINA (formerly Marina and the Diamonds) has been in the music game for years with many fans expressing she is underrated in the industry. She made her first live debut of her new electro-pop single “Cuntissimo” amongst other singles off her upcoming album, Princess of Power, that is set to be released this summer. With messages of female empowerment and independence ringing out through her performance, Marina is WWR approved!

Missy Elliot

An original trailblazer for women in rap music, this list would not be complete without Missy Elliot. She brought the epitome of cool girl energy to the Coachella stage with lively dancers getting the crowd on their feet in every number. Her discography is and always will be legendary.

LISA

LISA is best known for being the fan favorite member of the successful K-pop girl group, BLACKPINK, but is also pursuing a career as a solo artist. The crowd went wild as she performed a myriad of songs of her newest album, Alter Ego, that was released earlier this year. A rapper, singer and dancer, it’s no wonder she is finally getting recognized as a solo artist.

Tyla

Tyla is a South African R&B singer whose unique sound garnered attention after her music began trending throughout TikTok. During her Coachella performance she mesmerized the crowd with her buttery smooth vocals with songs off her compilation album entitled, Tyla+. This artist is definitely one to watch as she gains more and more fans.

Lola Young

Like Tyla, Lola Young is a rising artist from London who started to gain mainstream recognition after her single, “Messy”, went viral on TikTok. Despite putting years of work into her music, the unapologetic nature of her single seemed to resonate with listeners given its authenticity and humanness. This was one of the biggest hits she played at her Coachella set and is giving women everywhere inspiration to be their authentic selves.

Clairo

Clairo is an indie singer/songwriter that has created an audience for herself through YouTube. She was introduced to the crowd at Coachella by senator Bernie Sanders in order to highlight her activism around women’s rights, LGBTQ+ rights and much more. Her soft rock inspired music has captivated those around the world and continues to give her a platform to do good in the world.

Charli XCX

Brat summer continued into Brat spring as Charli XCX took the Coachella stage. She brought out Billie Eilish, Troye Sivan and Lorde to her help perform the hits off her 2024 album that took over the charts last year. It was a fun filled performance from Charli with a well-deserved performance after years of writing hits.

Megan Thee Stallion

Like Charli, Megan Thee Stallion brought out some special guests including Ciara and Queen Latifah. She performed songs off her two-part album series Megan and Megan: Act II. Per usual, she brought the house down representing women in rap!

Beabadoobee

Beabadobee is a Filipino-British singer/songwriter that has been releasing music since 2018. She is paving her path in the music industry since releasing multiple albums and opening for artists like Clairo and most recently Taylor Swift.
