Eligibility

1. Must be a female or female identifying singer-songwriter living in the Western Pennsylvania region

2. Must be between the ages of 13 - 24

3. Must have an ORIGINAL song, and a YouTube video of you singing it live to enter

4. Must accompany yourself or can have one instrumental accompanist

5. Top three finalists must be available to perform at the Women Who Rock Finalist Event on Friday, June 20, 2025, where the winner will be selected and announced

6. Winner must be available to perform at the 2025 Women Who Rock Benefit Concert in Pittsburgh at Stage AE on Friday, September 5th.

HOW TO ENTER

1. Submissions open from May 1st - May 31.

2. Upload a video of yourself signing and performing your original song live to YouTube

3. Fill out the Rising Star Contest submission form (below)

4. Read all contest rules and regulations

Selection Process

1. Women Who Rock will select three finalists from submission pool

2. Women Who Rock will announce top 3 finalists across social channels - date TBD.

3. Women Who Rock will hold a showcase featuring top 3 finalists date on Friday, June 20th at Sing Sing Sing! in Wexford where a panel of select music industry judges will choose a winner

PRIZES & OPPORTUNITIES

1. The Rising Star Contest winner will receive:

   • A once in a lifetime performance opportunity for the winner to perform the winning song at the Women Who Rock benefit concert at Stage AE, sharing a bill with some of the brightest stars in music

   • A one on one mentoring session with a music industry professional

   • A recording session to track 1 song at The Vault Recording Studio in Pittsburgh, with 6-time Grammy Award-winning producer and sound engineer, Jimmy Hoyson

   • Invitations to perform at future Women Who Rock events

   • Media promotion and public relations around Rising Star Contest

   • 4 Complimentary GA tickets to the 2025 Women Who Rock Benefit Concert at Stage AE

Submission Video Content

Submission videos must NOT contain material that is sexually explicit, obscene, violent, discriminatory, illegal, offensive, threatening, or harassing.

Terms and Conditions

General Requirements

1. Submit ONLY ONE (1) YouTube video

2. Submission videos must be entered according to posted contest rules and be an original song

3. Contest winner must perform the song they submit for the Rising Star Contest at Women Who Rock

4. Contest winner must be available for all components of prize package (appearances, meetings, performances, etc.) If winner is under the age of 18, a parent or legal guardian must be available to accompany winner to all appearances, meetings, performances, etc.

5. Contest winner must provide their own transportation to all appearances, meetings, performances, etc., and cover any travel costs
