Women Who Rock Pride Month

June is Pride Month and Women Who Rock is looking to honor those in the music industry who have embraced their identities and encouraged others in the LGBTQ+ community around the world to feel accepted and confident with who they are, while also harnessing their large platforms to advocate for LGBTQ+ rights and legislation. Here are 10 incredible musicians who are part of the LGBTQ+ community:

1. Tegan and Sara

Throughout their career, indie pop duo Tegan and Sara have amassed an impressive 45 music award nominations with 16 wins.

2. Japanese Breakfast

Indie pop band Japanese Breakfast was featured on the season finale of SNL to bid farewell to fellow queer performer Kate McKinnon after 10 seasons on the show.

3. Miley Cyrus

Singer-songwriter and actress Miley Cyrus has amassed numerous awards and inspired multiple generations of women from her Disney appearances to her current successful music career.

4. Janelle Monae

Janelle Monae is a woman who does it all with her career encompassing her award-winning work as a singer, songwriter, rapper, author, and actress.

5. KD Lang

Throughout her career, performer KD Lang has amassed an astounding 14 GRAMMY Awards between 1989 to 2004.

6. Meshell Ndegeocello

Bassist and songwriter Meshell Ndegeocello has led an epic career with many awards under her belt, including a GRAMMY Award for Best R&B song.

7. Jayne County

With a career spanning over six decades, punk artist and actress Jayne County has served as an inspiration for many artists who came after her, including some major names like David Bowie.

8. Melissa Etheridge
