Women Who Rock Foundation Launches Women Who Rock Academy
New workforce development program creates career pathways for women across music and live entertainment.
Women Who Rock Foundation is proud to announce the launch of the Women Who Rock Academy, a new workforce development initiative designed to help women build careers across the music business and live entertainment industries.
Launching this fall in Pittsburgh with support from Play PA Live, the Academy will combine industry education, mentorship, professional development and hands-on experience inside real music and live event environments.
From artists and songwriters to producers, engineers, managers, marketers, content creators and event professionals, the Academy is built around one idea: there is a place for women across every part of the music industry.
The inaugural cohort will gain experience across Music Business 101, recording and production, branding and media, and live event production, including hands-on experience at the Women Who Rock Benefit Concert at Stage AE.
“There is no single path into the music industry, and women belong across every part of it,” said Women Who Rock Founder Melinda Colaizzi. “The Women Who Rock Academy is about opening doors and creating real career pathways.”
The inaugural 20-person cohort will run October through December 2026 in Pittsburgh. Participation is free, and applications are now open.
