ICYMI: Women Who Rock Concert Series featuring Emily Wolfe

This month, Women Who Rock is teaming up with Gibson Guitars to bring you the Women Who Rock Concert Series, a virtual concert event benefitting Magee-Womens Research Institute in their mission to change the future of women’s health.

This week, Emily Wolfe performed from the Gibson Guitars showroom in Austin, Texas. Hailing from Austin herself, Wolfe dominates the stage with her powerful vocals and unique guitar style. During the show, she performed her songs “Missionary Son,” “Heat of the Moment,” and “Atta Blues.”

“Women make up 50 percent of the population but carry 100 percent of the future,” Wolfe said. “Therefore, women’s health impacts everyone.”

Women’s health is widely understudied and underfunded, but Magee-Womens Research Institute (MWRI) is striving to change that by focusing their research efforts on a wide range of fields that have previously received little or no study dedicated to women, such as maternal-fetal outcomes, women’s cancer research, and population health.

MWRI are advocates for women’s health research and have made great strides since their beginning in 1992, currently having 192 studies enrolling 162,000 women in clinical trials all around the world. Their mission to conduct groundbreaking and life-saving research to benefit women everywhere is greatly supported through donor contributions.
