Women Who Rock Presents Katie Sings Linda: The Music Of Linda Ronstadt Feat. Katie Simone

Linda Ronstadt is an American Icon, a singer who performed and recorded in diverse genres including rock, country, light opera, the Great American Songbook, and Latin music. She has earned 11 Grammy Awards, three American Music Awards, two Academy of Country Music awards, an Emmy Award, and an ALMA Award. To say Linda is a treasure to music is an understatement. Known for her early 70s hits like "It's So Easy," "You're No Good," "Blue Bayou," and "Hurt So Bad," to her trip through the standards like "I Love You for Sentimental Reasons," and her later hit duets with James Ingram ("Somewhere Out There") and Aaron Neville ("Don't Know Much" and "All My Life") it is hard to deny the impactful career she has given us.

Local artist, Katie Simone, brings together some of the area's best musicians go perform a special salute to Linda Ronstadt that will include all the hits for one special night. The show Katie Sings Linda is presented during Women's Health Month by Women Who Rock for Magee-Women's Research Institute.

Women Who Rock™ Rising Star Songwriters Night

Featuring Lindsay Liebro, Melina Bowser, Allissa Logsdon, and Maggie Marre.

All proceeds from this show will benefit women’s health research at Magee-Womens Research Institute, based in Pittsburgh, our nation’s leader in women’s health.

Lindsay Liebro is a 19-year-old indie pop singer-songwriter that has already been making waves with her music. From a young age, this Pittsburgh native has always been singing, performing, and writing songs about how she feels. Strapped with her signature blue guitar, she captivates audiences with her vivid lyricism and catchy melodies that honestly capture the emotions that come with growing up. Since releasing her first song in June 2021, she has amassed tens of thousands of monthly Spotify listeners across over 176 countries.

In 2020, Liebro won WYEP's Singer-Songwriter Competition as the youngest contestant which launched her career in music and was a finalist in the WWR Rising Star Contest. From there, she released her song "Wasted Potential" which has since earned over 2.6 million streams after going viral.

Most recently, she has been working with producer Steve Stout in Nashville, and she released her newest single "i wrote this song" in November 2023.

Maggie Marre is an 18-year-old singer-songwriter from a small town in Pennsylvania. Maggie channels life’s experiences to create relatable and heartfelt songs using inspiration from artists like Taylor Swift, Noah Kahan, Holly Humberstone, and Gracie Abrams. Maggie uses introspective storytelling and melodies to strike emotions in her indie-pop followers.

Melina Bowser is a 23-year-old singer and prolific songwriter from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She has been writing and releasing pop music since 2016. Melina, 2019 winner of the Women Who Rock Rising Star competition, has been compared to artists like Colbie Caillat, Maggie Rogers, and by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Kacey Musgraves.

ALLISSA is an independent rock artist from Pittsburgh, PA. The cutting vocals of front woman Allissa Logsdon, paired with melodic rock guitar tones and classic rock drum beats, gives ALLISSA a unique and unparalleled sound. The imaginative lyrical narrative of each song is carefully woven together from real life stories, resulting in a high-energy, emotion-packed live show experience. Influenced by bands like Flyleaf, Evanescence and Paramore, ALLISSA’s pop influenced rock anthems are dramatic, edgy and authentic.

Women Who Rock™ Icons: The Music of Stevie Nicks

Join us this Women’s History Month to celebrate the music of Stevie Nicks performed by Melinda and the Night Sky with special surprise guests.

All proceeds from this show will benefit women’s health research at Magee-Womens Research Institute, based in Pittsburgh, our nation’s leader in women’s health.

The Women Who Rock and Magee-Womens Research Institute pop-up will also be on-site with giveaways, raffle prizes, and more.

Melinda and The Night Sky is an American rock and blues band born in Pittsburgh, PA. The group builds a foundation of funk into the earth so Melinda's voice can soar. Just as The Rolling Stones came in the wake of Muddy Waters, Melinda and the Night Sky pick up where Janis Joplin and Tina Turner left off.

You'd be forgiven if the band made you think of Daisy Jones & The Six... but unlike that fictional band, MATNS is real. The band has shared the stage with iconic acts like the legendary B.B. King Blues Band, Sue Foley, Lez Zeppelin, and in 2020 Melinda and the Night Sky collaborated on an exclusive beer with North Country Brewing, which won the prestigious ARTBREW award.

Melinda and the Night Sky's recent single "Say What You Mean" has become a staple in 91.3 FM WYEP's radio rotation, and features drummer Dennis Garner, Skip Sanders on keys, and Marc Reisman on harmonica.

Melinda is also the Founder of Women Who Rock™.

ALLISSA @ Women Who Rock Pop-Up Shop – Pittsburgh, PA

Join us for live music at the WWR Pop-Up Shop in the SouthSide Works Presented by Pittsburgh City Paper.

ALLISSA is an independent rock artist from Pittsburgh, PA. Formerly a solo artist with a pop-rock sound, ALLISSA is now backed by a band of rock musicians producing more angst-driven tones. The cutting
vocals of front woman Allissa Logsdon, now paired with melodic rock guitar tones and classic rock drum beats, gives ALLISSA a unique and unparalleled sound.

Haunting melodies and vulnerably dark lyrics work together to expose the story of a painful past and reveal a message of hope to come. The imaginative lyrical narrative of each song is carefully woven together from real life stories, resulting in a high-energy, emotion-packed live show experience. Influenced
by bands like Flyleaf, Evanescence and Paramore, ALLISSA’s pop influenced rock anthems are dramatic, edgy and authentic.

ALLISSA’s first official project, comprised of 6 singles and 2 music videos, was released in 2021. Prior to
the 2021 releases her undeniable talent won her a one-year deal with Pioneer Records as the Pioneer
Star at Point Park University, the Women Who Rock Artist Challenge through iHeart Radio and performance opportunities at Market Square events
in Pittsburgh. She has been featured in CCM Magazine and Jesus Wired, and has been given radio airplay
on multiple stations across Pennsylvania. In addition, ALLISSA’s music and live-show experience has earned her opportunities to play at Hard Rock Cafe, Stage AE, Mr. Smalls Theatre, Creation Fest NE main stage and more.
