Most people know that the music industry is one of the toughest in which to form a career, and few can attest to this fact with firsthand experience quite as much as WOLF.

When WOLF first began sending demos of her music to producers, she said she really struggled to find someone who could match the vision she had for her own music.

“It was really hard at first,” WOLF said. “I knew what sound I wanted, but I could not find a producer to do it.”

She eventually reached a point where she wanted to abandon her music career altogether. WOLF said she was ready to start her life all over again with plans to move to Italy with her father to open a restaurant. However, her father had convinced her to stay in New York City and continue to pursue music because he “had a feeling” that she would make it. Just a few months later, she met her current producer, Jackson.

WOLF was playing one of her songs at a local bar near her home when Jackson approached her about producing her music. She had initially declined his offer due to financial reasons, but soon accepted when he said that he would be willing to do the work for free.

“I wasn’t having to nitpick at all,” WOLF said of her first time working with Jackson. “It was effortless. He just understood what I wanted.”

Since then, WOLF has garnered quite an impressive fanbase, with her song “Hoops” exceeding one million streams on Spotify in just a few months.

WOLF said “Hoops” was inspired by a time in her life when her and her friends would get together to play basketball every day. While she did not have much skill in the sport, it was an opportunity for her friends to just hang out and talk.

Another popular song of hers, “High Waist Jeans,” was inspired by a not-so-positive experience when an ex responded to one of her tweets, assuming that she was referring to him. Her anger regarding his reaction prompted her to write the song that later went on to become one of her hits.

Despite the negative situation that prompted the writing of the song, WOLF managed to turn “High Waist Jeans” into a positive endeavor by partnering with denim company Levi’s. Levi’s provided WOLF with pairs of high-waisted jeans to give away to her fans, along with additional pairs to donate to a women’s shelter in New York City.

Looking ahead, WOLF says she plans on dropping a few more singles before the eventual release of her full-length album. She also said she looks forward to getting back on stage and connecting with her fans in person.

“I’m itching to perform live again,” WOLF said.

While WOLF’s live performances so far have just been a one-woman show with her and her electric guitar, she says she would love to add additional band members to her live acts to achieve the sound she’s looking for.
