ICYMI: #HighVoltageWoman IG Live featuring Kelsi Davies

BY LAURA HARPER/WWR Staff Writer

As a singer-songwriter, actress, TikTok sensation, psychic medium, and much more, there are many wonderful and exciting sides to the multitalented Kelsi Davies.

From a young age, Davies knew that she had a passion for entertainment. After starting a YouTube channel with a friend, she soon found her place as a content creator that would eventually set the scene for her whole career.

On YouTube, Davies explored her love of the paranormal by visiting some of the most haunted places in the world, which allowed her to create a social media following of people who loved exploring spirituality just as much as she did. Now, with over 4 million followers on TikTok, she’s hoping to expand her content on all of the major social media platforms.

“I want to create some sort of community where people can come and just feel safe to talk about whatever,” Davies said. “I just want positive vibes, positive energy.”

One of the main facets of the content Davies creates is combining her passions for music and the paranormal. She often creates music videos for the songs she makes featuring her haunted doll Lola, who she felt an immediate connection to after browsing for positive spirits on eBay. Since then, Lola has become a large part of her brand and has captured the love of her fans.

“Spirituality brings people together,” Davies said.

Davies also strives to combine these dark elements in songs that most people can relate to. Two of her most recent songs, “Done” and “Darker,” both explore relationships, with “Done” being about loving someone when it’s not meant to be and “Darker” speaking on the darkness and toxicity in some relationships.

Although these songs can reveal her vulnerable side, Davies says that her own struggles with depression have allowed her to help and connect with her fans on a deeper level.

“It’s fulfilling to know that using my voice and putting myself out there is helping people,” Davies said. “That’s something I’m so grateful for.”

Davies said her struggles with depression and body dysmorphia have stemmed from some of the negative comments she receives on social media, but that she tries her best to realize that these people are most likely projecting their own insecurities onto her.

Davies also said that she has had to deal with some challenges that have resulted from her being a woman across multiple industries that are dominated by men. These men have bullied her for her beliefs and made fun of her body, with some people even publicly claiming that she suffered from a mental illness.

“People need to have an open mind and respect other people’s beliefs,” Davies said.

While these things can be painful to hear, Davies still embraces her positive vibes and looks at these situations from a different perspective.

“There’s always a reason that people are mean,” Davies said. “Just remember that there are so many more people who love you.”
