Women Who Rock the Pink Carpet

BY LAURA HARPER/WWR Staff Writer

The 2022 Los Angeles Women Who Rock Benefit Concert was held at The Novo DTLA on Sunday, May 22. WWR rolled out the Pink Carpet for women to showcase their best look as they stood in solidarity to raise funds and awareness for lifesaving women’s health research through Magee-Womens Research Institute. Here are some of the best Pink Carpet looks from that night (all photos credit to Kelli Daerr):

1. Flor De Toloache

The ladies in Flor De Toloache looked stunning in their fashion forward and feminine take on traditional mariachi outfits with gold accents, with matching silver pumps. Julie Acosta wore the WWR x Renee Piatt Signature Lightning Bolt Necklace in gunmetal.

2. The Women Who Rock Team

The evening would never have been possible without the hard work and dedication of Team WWR, who all beautifully showcased their unique styles. WWR Founder, Melinda Colaizzi, rocked a Zadig & Voltaire blazer, and Events Manager, Brianne Blazosky, wore a WWR jacket she made herself for the show.

3. Emily Wolfe

Guitar slayer and recording artist Emily Wolfe rocked her simple, all black ensemble before taking the stage to perform.

4. Jordin Sparks

Multi-platinum recording artist Jordin Sparks commanded the room in her pink crop top and black pants, the perfect updated version of a power suit to emcee the whole event.

5. Orianthi

Another guitar slayer and recording artist, Orianthi, rocked thigh-high boots and a gorgeous embellished blazer, topped off with her signature hat and sunglasses combo.

6. Marisa Sullivan

Media personality Marisa Sullivan channeled the rock and roll style gods in her pink pleather zip-up dress with fishnet fingerless gloves and strappy black stilettos.

7. Recording Academy Los Angeles Chapter

LAC Executive Director Qiana Conley, Jordin Sparks, LAC Board Governor Claudia Brant, LAC Board Governor Lynne Earls, and Recording Academy “Women in the Mix” Study Co-author Mako Fitts Wards brought us everything from Pucci-inspired prints to laid back rock and roll and even a sequined blazer. These Women in the Mix were mixing it up on the Pink Carpet!

8. Kelsi Davies

Recording artist Kelsi Davies stunned in a strappy black cut-out dress rocking an Angelina leg with matching black ankle boots.

9. Samantha and Violet Grae

Recording artist Violet Grae and partner Samantha rocked coordinated “Under the Sea”-inspired outfits complete with fishnet details.

10. Alex Espiritu and Dylan Brenner

Alex Espiritu of Badflower and Dylan Brenner of Dead Poet Society showed their support for women’s health in quintessential rock and roll t-shirts, jeans, and denim jackets. Alex even rocked his WWR pink lightning bolt pin.
