Dr. Jocelyn Fitzgerald Honored With 2023 Women Who RockTM Impact Award

Dr. Jocelyn Fitzgerald will accept the award at the 6th Annual Women Who RockTM Benefit Concert Starring Ann Wilson of Heart & Tripsitter

Pittsburgh, PA –September 26, 2023 - The 2023 Women Who Rock™ Impact Award will be presented to Dr. Jocelyn Fitzgerald, at the 6th Annual Women Who Rock™ Benefit Concert Presented by Gibson Gives on Saturday, October 21, at Stage AE, Pittsburgh.

Dr. Fitzgerald is an Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology in the division of Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital, and Magee-Womens Research Institute & Foundation. She completed her Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship at Georgetown University/MedStar Health and her Gynecology and Obstetrics residency at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. She attended medical school at the University of Pittsburgh and graduated from the Physician Scientist Training Program. Before medical school, Dr. Fitzgerald attended The Schreyer Honors College at Penn State University and earned dual degrees in Neurobiology and Women’s Studies with an emphasis in Women’s Health. Her research and advocacy has focused on mechanisms of female chronic pelvic and bladder pain, patient-centered outcomes of gynecologic surgery, reimbursement and funding disparities in gynecologic surgery and women’s health research and the role of social and digital media in the promotion of women’s health.

of women’s health, women’s rights, or women in music. Women who have paved the way for those who will follow, who have changed the current landscape, and initiated significant developments. Dr. Jocelyn Fitzgerald’s contributions to the world of medicine over the years make her an exemplary recipient of the 2023 Women Who Rock™ Impact Award.

All proceeds from the Women Who Rock™ Benefit Concert support Magee-Womens Research Institute (MWRI), the nation’s largest research institute dedicated solely to life-saving women’s health research.

This year’s annual Women Who Rock™ Benefit Concert on October 21st at Stage AE will star the legendary Ann Wilson of Heart and Tripsitter. Widely praised as one of the greatest singers in the history of rock, Wilson’s powerful voice has been sending chills down her audience’s collective spine for over five decades, selling more than 35 million records and earning an induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.

The lineup also inclues performances by The Vindys and DJ Madame Trio. Host of iHEART RADIO 102.5 WDVE Michele Michaels will return for the sixth year in a row as the emcee.
